This is a rare 1961 Centennial Premiere Movie and Ball Program.
On March 9, 1961 the Civil War Centennial festivities began in Atlanta, Georgia with a ball at the Atlanta Biltmore Hotel hosted by the GA Civil War Centennial Commission. The ball was followed by the Centennial movie premiere on March 10, 1961 at Loew's Grand. The honored guests for the celebration included; 13 southern state govenors, Vivien Leigh, Olivia DeHavilland, David O. Selznick and many other stars and dignitaries.
This Ball and Movie program is 32 pages and includes a casting list from the movie as well as a number of black and white movie photos, historical information about various GWTW locations and several local Atlanta company advertisements. Program is in good condition with normal age wear/spotting and yellowing. Embossed on the front cover are the dates '1861' and '1961' with 'Gone With the Wind' written in ink across the top; the back cover is blank.
