Eleanore Cammack "Cammie" King was born on August 5, 1934 in Los Angeles, California. While her acting career only spanned four years during her childhood, she was involved in two of the biggest movies of the era, Gone with the Wind and Bambi. In Gone With the Wind, she was cast as Scarlett and Rhett's daughter, Eugenia "Bonnie Blue" Butler at the age of four. In the 1942 animated Disney film, Bambi, she provided the voice for the doe "Faline." Reflecting on her film career, King once joked, "I peaked at 5."

Cammie was the godchild of Herbert Kalmus, the co-founder of Technicolor, and became his stepchild in 1949 when he married her mother, Eleanore King. She went on to earn a degree in communications from the University of Southern California in 1956 and worked for a time on the CBS series "Climax!" In the early 2000s, Cammie made a guest appearance as a contestant on the TV game show To Tell the Truth, hosted by John O'Hurley. Throughout her life, Cammie was a constant presence at events celebrating the movie Gone With the Wind and in 2009, she privately published a small book, "Bonnie Blue Butler: A Gone With the Wind Memoir" which sold mainly directly to fans via her personal appearances and the internet.

Cammie was married twice and had two adopted children. She spent 40 years working as a marketing coordinator for the Fort Bragg-Mendocino Coast Chamber of Commerce in Northern California. She died on September 1, 2010, at her home in Fort Bragg, California, at age 76, from lung cancer and is interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
