How do I know if an item has any flaws?
We list any known flaws in the item description. If you don't mind a few
imperfections to get a bargain, check our sale page!
I live in the UK how will my order ship and how much will it
cost and how
do I pay the extra ship fees?
Your order will ship Global Priority Mail. Cost depends on weight of
your order. A PayPal invoice will be sent to you requesting payment
of the
extra shipping, when this is paid your order will ship. Remember
you are
responsible for any customs/duty fees and we claim full value
on shipments.
How long will it take for me to get my order if I mail a
check?
We will ship your order after your check clears (usually 7-10 business days).
Depending on shipping carrier, shipping time is 4-10 days.
When paying by check please allow 3 weeks for delivery.
I am having trouble ordering with PayPal, what should I do?
Make sure you have any Pop Up Blockers turned off and your
computer is set to accept cookies. These are the 2 most common
fixes for any ordering problems with the PayPal Shopping Cart.
I didn't get any emails confirming shipment of my order, why?
Many times email programs route these confirmation emails to your
"Spam or Bulk" folder. Please check there! Also, many
emails are
returned to us as undeliverable.
Most of the time it is because of a
"typo" in the email address you
provided. AOL users may not get our
emails because we are not on your
email list. Please email us if you
haven't received an order/shipping
confirmation email.
What is the difference between something that says
"Out
of Stock" and "Sold"?
Out of stock means we try to carry these items regularly and hope to
have
more in stock soon. Sold means it is usually a rare one of a kind
item we
don't know if we will be able to find again. If you would like
anything
marked sold or out of stock, email us and we will put you on
our "wish
list" for it and let you know when we have it available!
How do you calculate your shipping fees?
Shipping charges are based order total and include all shipping & handling
costs associated with processing & shipping your order.
Costs include: packing labor, packing supplies, pick up service/drop off
fees and insurance.
We are
in a rural area, that combined with California's high gas prices,
means we also pay
fuel surcharges for pick up service.
If we ship your order USPS we have to take it to the P.O. which is 30
miles away (at a cost of approx. $10 for gas ).
There are many "handling" cost factors included in
shipping, not just actual shipping charges. We ship the fastest way
possible which is either UPS or Priority Mail depending on the shipping charges
for your order. Our shipping fees are clearly defined on our Shipping
and Terms pages so there are no surprises later. If your order costs more to
ship than the standard charge, we absorb those costs unless specified.
I tracked my order and the USPS website says it was
delivered, but I don't have it. What should I do?
First, call your local Post Office. All insured orders, or
orders over $200 must be signed for. Also ask any family members or neighbors if
they received a package for you. Many times it has been delivered and someone in
your household forgot to tell you. (Husbands seem to be very good at this!)
Why don't you do refunds/returns?
Unfortunately, years ago we had customers trying to return
"damaged"
items to us for a refund that were not the items we sold to
them (yes there are people like that out there!) To stop this we had to
implement our no refunds policy. We will do an exchange if the item we
sold is not as we represented it.
Please ask all questions before purchasing an item as all sales are final.
Do you refund shipping fees if I exchange an item?
No, but if the item was misrepresented, we pay to ship the replacement back
to you.
My order was not shipped from your company, why?
Some of the items we offer are on consignment. These fine collectibles are
owned by personal friends/collectors of ours. We have seen the items and can
verify their quality and condition. If you buy an item that is on consignment it
will be shipped from the current owner, not us. If you purchase a
consignment item we will notify you, as you will not receive an invoice with
your order.
How long have you been in business and how do I know you are
legitimate?
We have been in business since 1997 and are a member of The BBB in and
also the Public Eye where we are designated a "safe shopping
site".
How does your "wish list" work?
If you are looking for an item we do not have available, we put you on our
"wish list" for it. When we have it, or find one we can buy, we
notify you. If you want it, we will not put it on the website for sale but
hold it for you until we arrange payment.
In some cases, if we know it is something we can find, we require a deposit
before we buy it for you.
Where do you get your items?
Most of our items come from private collectors who decide to sell their
collections. We also shop antique stores, estate sales, and have many people
across the country who look for items for us.
Do you have a store somewhere?
Our store is worldwide, on the internet!
If something is out of stock, how much will it cost when you
get
another one?
Sorry but this is a question it is impossible to answer! Since we deal
primarily
in vintage and one of a kind items, prices fluctuate depending
on what we have
to pay for the item. We may have an item that cost $50
and the next one we
find is $100.
This is especially true of the Franklin Mint items now that most of their GWTW
collectibles are retired. Many older items are now getting harder
to find and therefore more expensive.
Why do you use PayPal? Can I phone in an order?
The main reason is security! When you order via our PayPal shopping
cart, we
never see your sensitive information like your credit card number. Since
using PayPal (for 5 years now) our customers have never had any fraudulent charges or their information compromised. Our last
"merchant account" had some serious security issues and we wanted to
make sure that never happened again.
Privacy and security is #1 when
ordering online and we want to do everything possible to insure your
safety. At this time all orders have to be paid for using the shopping
cart or mailed in using our printable order form located on the left at the top
of our menu.
We can also ship COD if requested.
Since we never see your credit card info, we can not process phone orders.
For more information on how PayPal works, please visit their site at: www.paypal.com
I ordered something but you emailed me and said it was
out of
stock, why?
This occasionally happens if you have us in your favorites and do not
"reload" or "refresh" our page when you visit. If you
have an old page in your cache, an "add to cart" button may show up
when it shouldn't and we have sold that item.
Why are things sold "as is"?
Since we deal mainly in vintage items, many of which are over 20 years old,
they naturally may have minor imperfections due to age. We can not
guarantee these items are new or in like new condition so they are sold "as
is". We do try to describe items to the best of our ability but if
you have any questions, please email us before ordering.
Are your collectibles from a smoke/pet free environment?
Due to the age of our collectibles (many from the 1940's) we can not guarantee
they have always been kept in a smoke (or pet) free environment. However, since
we have had them, they are stored in a smoke/pet free climate controlled store
room.
Do any famous people shop with you? Who is the most famous?
Oh yes! But we respect their privacy also and do not publicize their names
or any other information just to "promote" our site.
We can say
that the people we have met both famous and not so famous, who love or were
involved with GWTW are some of the nicest people in the world! We are also
proud some of our items are now housed in large GWTW collections & museums for all
to enjoy.
Again, we can't name names, but one of our rare collectibles is owned by a very
famous actress & comedienne (who we love!).
Do you have your own collection?
You bet we do! Since we are a family owned and operated business, we
are first and foremost collectors and lovers of the movie! This is why we
chose to specialize in vintage collectibles as those are the items we have a
passion for, all the unique things you can't find just anywhere! Some items we
do not carry because we don't feel like they are quality collectibles or the
characters are not accurately depicted. We prefer that Scarlett really looks
like Scarlett !
