1939  VERY RARE "Mammy" Program

This was the first program printed for the movie.
It was cancelled and most copies destroyed when it was decided that showing  a "colored" (Hattie McDaniel as Mammy, pictured bottom right) on the back cover would cause problems in what were then racially tense times in the south.
It is believed that very few of these programs exist today as they were only distributed up "North" until the Alicia Rhett program was made.
Excellent condition, slight age toning around edges.
#GWPM   $749.99

The second edition program was made with a "blank back".
It is believed this program was rushed into production
after the "Mammy" program was cancelled and there was no time to redesign
the back cover for the Premier's in Atlanta and L.A..  It is called the "Opening Night"
program since these were used for the opening night, "Premier" of the movie.

The third and final program edition pictures Alicia Rhett "India Wilkes"
replacing Hattie McDaniel's picture on the back bottom right.
This is the most common program found as it was printed throughout the 1940's.
Even though there are quite a few of these that exist today, they are hard to find
in good condition as they are over 60 years old.
